Do you know how you're supposed to act in the library?

NHCC Library Rules of Behavior

The Code of Conduct for Student Behavior and Academic Honesty at North Hennepin Community College is generally observed, but the following rules specific to the NHCC Library have been added in order that all users may use and enjoy the library.

Library users may not:

--Bring food into the library. Beverages in securely covered containers will be permitted.

--Engage in loud or disruptive behavior that is bothersome to other library users.

--Use profanity or other language that is offensive to others.

--Remove or attempt to remove library materials from the library without properly checking them out or otherwise obtaining staff permission.

--Mutilate library materials by marking, underlining, removing pages or portions thereof, or in any way deface materials.

--Touch the personal property of other library users.

--Leave children unattended or unsupervised in the library.

--Violate the college's computer use policy.

--Use a cellular telephone or any other electronic device that creates a public noise.

***Library staff members are authorized to enforce these and any other library rules as the situation warrants. Uncooperative patrons may be asked to leave the library. If necessary, Campus Security will be contacted.***
